Chinese New Year outdoor event will be held at Lasipalatsi Square, Wednesday 18th of February 2015 (4pm-8pm).

　　Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is one of the most important traditional Chinese holidays, and it is usually celebrated together with close friends and family.

　　The Chinese New Year event, hosted by the cities of Helsinki and Beijing, is now taking place at Lasipalatsi Square for the ninth time. This year it is time to welcome the Year of the Goat!

　　A talented group of performers, from both China and Finland, will present a magical journey full of wondrous dancing dragons and lions. The artists, from Beijing Song and Dance Theatre, China National Acrobatic Troupe and Beijing Capital Institute of Physical Education, will perform acrobatics, music, dance and dynamic kungfu-shows at the main stage of the event. Festivities straight from Beijing can be seen live on a large video screen. Food stalls with delicious flavours together with the lively Chinese market create an authentic Chinese atmosphere at the square. Meanwhile, 80 terra cotta warriors lanterns from Beijing, will stand in the Paasikiven Square from 12^th Feb. to 18^th Feb. What's more, they are all free entrance!
